The Benghazi Shame Mirrors the Nation’s

Acts of betrayal and treason in the high echelons of government have been responsible for refusing to protect and rescue Ambassador Chris Stevens and some valiant Navy Seals. Leaders and media feed the American people obvious lies they swallow because of their indifference, lies about Benghazi, lies about guns being the reason more innocent blood has been shed, and lies about our failures being successes.

While America hides the truth, the world sees our forsaken ambassador, thrown under the bus of political gain, tortured, raped, lynched, murdered, and then raped again by an angry Muslim mob. Such actions bring international shame on America as God prophesied. Previous strong leaders would have seen this as an act of war to receive immediate retaliation. Instead, we apologize to the Muslims.

We lie to our people, and the people love to have it so.

Isaiah describes this lamentable state in Isaiah 1:4-6, written for and about America:

Alas, sinful nation,
People weighed down with iniquity,
Offspring of evildoers,
Sons who act corruptly!
They have abandoned [Jesus],
They have despised the Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away from Him.
Where will you be stricken again,
As you continue in your rebellion?
The whole head is sick
And the whole heart is faint.
From the sole of the foot even to the head
There is nothing sound in it,
Only bruises, welts and raw wounds,
Not pressed out or bandaged,
Nor softened with oil.

The ambassador’s bruised and beaten state is analogous to the condition of the whole nation, from top to bottom.

Will we sigh and cry for all these abominations in our nation, crying out for God’s Kingdom to come to stop it all, or will we also continue to lie and walk in shame?

Gun representatives who speak common sense are bullied, cursed, mocked, and rudely interrupted on liberal talk shows, enforcing the agenda of the shadow government to erase the second amendment and ignore warnings from the wise, founding fathers to keep guns in citizens’ hands to prevent an eventual government takeover.

Few realize that we are reaping what we sowed beginning forty years ago when we judicially approved shedding innocent blood in the womb with the Supreme Court abortion ruling. Now we are seeing the shedding of the innocent blood of our young first graders, blood we did not choose to see spilled.

Guns are not the issue. People are. People kill people, and the spirit of anger-rage and murder will always find a way to kill. Criminals will always be the ones to find whatever weapon of mass murder they can find, while innocent citizens see their constitutional rights ripped away as they grovel in the fear Satan is bringing on this nation and the world.

Will you be engulfed and duped by all the lies Paul speaks of in 2 Timothy 3:13 as “evil men and impostors … proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived”? Or will you choose, as Paul enjoined in verse 15, to immerse yourself in the “sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”?
